ANDREY FONSECA WILL BE ABANDERED FROM COSTA RICA IN THE NEXT CENTRAL AMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN GAMES
SAN JOSE. The president of the Republic, Carlos Alvarado, swore on Saturday to the 250 athletes (130 men and 120 women) that will represent Costa Rica in the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games to be held in Barranquilla, Colombia, from July 19 to 3 August.
After the oath of office, the First Lady of the Republic, Claudia Dobles, announced the name of the athlete who will carry the Costa Rican flag in the jousts. This is the cyclist of Andrey Fonseca Ureña, national champion of Mountain Bike XC, in 2016 and 2017.
"It is an honor for me to make known to Andrey who will distinguish us in the inaugural parade of the games, carrying the flag of Costa Rica. Thanks to him and the entire delegation for their love and commitment to the national colors. We wish you the greatest success, "said the First Lady.
