MIDLAND, ONTARIO. El Campeonato Panamericano de Cyclocross se efectuó en esta ciudad con la presencia de ciclistas del continente americano, los cuales protagonizaron el certamen que tuvo un alto nivel competitivo.
En la categoría elite masculina, se impuso el estadounidense Kerry Werner (Kona Maxxis Shimano-USA), seguido por sus compatriotas White, Curtis (Cannondale P/B Cyclocrossworld-USA) y Driscoll, James (Mavic / DNA Cycling-USA), medallistas de plata y bronce, respectivamente.
Entre las damas Maghalie Rochette (Specialized x Feedback Sports) defendió exitosamente su título luego de vencer a Clara Honsinger (Team S&M CX), quien terminó en segundo lugar, y a Rebecca Fahringer (Kona Maxxis Shimano), tercera.
Las dos primeras carreras de campeonato de los Campeonatos Panamericanos de 2019 en Midland, Ontario, presentaron a los Hombres Menores y Hombres Sub23.
El presidente de la Comisión Panamericana de Cyclocross, Brook Watts, valoró como positivo el certamen efectuado en esta localidad canadiense.
