National cycling reclaimed the Tour of Panama title thanks to Chiriquí native Franklin Archibold, who this Saturday earned his second award at this international cycling event, in addition to several other individual prizes.

Archibold, who rode for the Senafront team, had already won the title in 2021, and in this 2025 edition, in addition to winning the overall classification, he also won the mountain classification, the consistency classification, and was the best national champion.

After 525 kilometers, the cyclist from Valle de la Luna clocked a time of 11 hours, 30 minutes, and 28 seconds to win the Vicente Carretero Cup. His runners-up in the final standings were Colombian-Spaniard Oscar Sevilla of Team Medellín EPM and Costa Rican Gabriel Rojas of ManzaTé-La Selva-Scott, who finished 47 seconds behind. In the mountains, Archibold scored 7 points and in the regularity category, he earned 71 points, including two stage wins.

The final stage run this Saturday was won by Colombian Álvaro Hodeg of Team Medellín EPM, who stopped the clock in a sprint at 2 hours, 5 minutes, and 6 seconds. He was followed by Franklin Archibold and Costa Rican Sebastián Brenes of the Ibero Celta Subregional Team.

“We are satisfied with this performance at the Tour of Panama, thanks to the team, because my teammates gave their all on the road. It was a high-level competition, with very good averages and excellent cyclists. I would also like to thank Mr. Vicente Carretero for his support,” said Archibold, who will compete in European cycling again in 2026.

Likewise, Dier Ríos (Rali Giant) won the Junior title with 11 hours, 34 minutes, and 37 seconds, and Michael Caballero (Rali Giant) with 11 hours, 32 minutes, and 12 seconds.
