In a blistering finish, Argentine Mauricio Domínguez (Municipalidad de Santa Lucía – Gremios por el deporte) emerged victorious in the third stage held in Pocito, after completing 140.9 kilometers on a demanding urban circuit.

“Honestly, it was a great stage. The team and I planned to go for it and try to make up some of the time I lost yesterday, because honestly, I hadn’t felt great, but today I was able to,” said Domínguez, in statements collected by Huarpe Deportes.

The Argentine rider crossed the finish line in first place, surpassing his compatriot Emiliano Pérez (Fundación Diberbool) and Honduran Fredd Matute, representing the Colombian team HYF Liro Recovery Sport.

Regarding the overall standings, Argentinian Nicolás Tivani (Municipality of Pocito) maintained his first-place position, followed by Tomás Moyano (Municipality of Santa Lucía – Gremios por el deporte) at 6 seconds and Chilean Cristóbal Báez Muñoz (Plus Racing) at 12 seconds, while Robinson Chalapud (Portal Santa Lucía) from Nariño remained in 14th place, 18 seconds back.

The San Juan race continues this Tuesday with the fourth stage, a 12.5-kilometer individual time trial between Zonda and Punta Negra. Next Sunday in San Juan, we will find out who succeeds Nicolás Tivani, winner of the last edition.
