The Colombian delegation confirmed its favoritism in Track Cycling at the ASU2025 Junior Pan American Games and earned more medals than any other nation. Today was no exception. On the final day, they won all four events.
The medal haul by the representatives of the coffee-growing nation never stopped, not even on the final day of competition. Today’s four races were dominated by Colombian cyclists.
First, in the women’s Kerin event, Colombians Stefany Cuadrado and Marianis Salazar conquered the track and earned gold and silver, respectively. From the start, their superiority over the other competitors was notable and categorical, with speed and technique leading to another gold medal for their delegation.
The same thing happened in the Madison. A thrilling day took place at the Paraguayan Olympic Committee Velodrome, where the Colombian duo of Luciana Osorio and Natalia Garzón claimed the gold medal.
After scoring 57 points after more than 20 minutes of racing and overtaking the Chilean duo of Javiera Garrido and Marlen Rojas by 31 points, the Colombian duo recovered on the track and surpassed all the others to take the title.
Continuing in the Madison, but in the men’s division, the team formed by Miguel Marín and Jerónimo Calderón easily won the gold medal with 85 points, leaving Mexico in second place with 57 points and Brazil in third place with 19 points. From the start, the Colombian team was far superior to their opponents, and this was reflected in the final result.
Finally, in the Men’s Keirin, Nicolás Olivera (Colombia) took the gold medal, Matías Murillo (Argentina) the silver, and Danell James (Trinidad and Tobago) the bronze. A close race between the three medalists, the final moments of the race were crucial for the Colombian to secure first place.
Each of these brave cyclists truly brought the heart of the II Junior Pan American Games, battling each race at a superlative level and at high speed. Colombia confirmed its previous favoritism, although there were also surprises for some athletes who are beginning to make a name for themselves internationally.
