The Costa Verde Circuit in San Miguel was the epicenter of road cycling at the XX Bolivarian Games Ayacucho – Lima 2025, where Colombia topped the podium after winning two gold medals and one silver.
Diana Carolina Peñuela Martínez won the women’s individual time trial with a time of 29:49.56, while her compatriot Lina Marcela Hernández Gómez took second place with a time of 30:03.22.
In the men’s event, Walter Alejandro Vargas Alzate won the gold medal in the individual time trial with a time of 51:25.09. Ecuadorian Jonathan Klever Caicedo Cepeda took the silver medal with a time of 53:31.17.
Venezuela and Chile completed the overall podium with a bronze medal each. Venezuelan Lilibeth del Carmen Chacón García took third place in the women’s time trial with a time of 30:06.96, while Chilean Héctor Exequiel Quintana Vidal secured the bronze in the men’s event with a time of 53:51.64.
The best cyclists from 17 countries tackled a spectacular course around the Costa Verde, between the districts of San Miguel and Barranco, in one of the most anticipated road cycling events of the XX Bolivarian Games Lima-Ayacucho 2025.
The starting point was the IPD Pan American Complex on the Costa Verde, with a demanding 22 km per lap course for the road race. The route featured technical curves and breathtaking scenery, elevating the competition to the highest level of difficulty under international regulations, where the athletes displayed exceptional power and speed.
The next cycling event will be at the velodrome of the National Sports Village – VIDENA, where the track cycling events will be held from November 30 to December 3.
