The President of the Pan American Cycling Confederation, José Manuel Peláez, sent a congratulatory message from his social media profile to the entire cycling family, on the occasion of the new year, emphasizing the ideas proposed in the 2030 Agenda, the organization’s work guide, approved in 2025.
Below we reproduce his message:
Cycling Family: Happy 2026!
We are already in a new year of work. 2026 is another challenge for the cycling family in the Americas. On behalf of the Pan American Cycling Confederation (COPACI), which I have the honor of leading, I want to extend my congratulations to all cyclists, coaches, mechanics, commissaries, federation officials, managers, journalists, and all other personnel who consider themselves part of our discipline.
2025 left us with a cleaner, stronger, and more transparent sport, but also one that is more powerful, participatory, and youthful, just as we envisioned in the 2030 Agenda, which was approved at the Congress held in Panama and serves as the creative guide for our work.
New pillars are shaping the continuity of COPACI’s work: Growth, Creativity, Impact, Transparency, and Ethics. These pillars align with the objectives promoted by the UCI for this period and respond to the interests of our 44 affiliated and five associated federations.
In the past year, we committed to a leap forward in organization and quality. And together, we have achieved it. New Pan American Championships, the Central American and Caribbean Games, World Cups, World Championships, and a long list of races on the continental circuit will give 2026 a highly competitive edge, leading up to the biggest challenge of the sporting cycle: the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
For this new endeavor, we trust that you will not only support each of the proposed ideas but embrace them as your own. That’s how we become stronger.
Happy 2026 to all. Best regards.
