Unstoppable! After winning the Itzulia and the Vuelta a España, Dutch rider Demi Vollering (FDJ – SUEZ) was crowned champion of the Volta a Catalunya Femenina 2025, after defending the lead in the last stage that ended in Barcelona.
The podium of the Catalan race was completed by her teammate, the Swiss Elise Chabbey (FDJ – SUEZ) and the French Marion Bunel (Team Visma | Lease a Bike), who finished second and third, respectively.
The best Latin American was the Colombian Paula Patiño (Movistar Team) in sixth place 4:19 behind Vollering, while her countrywoman Angie Mariana Londoño (Eneicat – CM Team) finished 56th, more than 34 minutes behind the champion.
The last stage was won by Dutch rider Loes Adegeest (FDJ-SUEZ), who beat her compatriots Eva van Agt (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) and Eline Jansen (VolkerWessels Pro Cycling Team).
In these 114 kilometers between Castelldefels and Barcelona, only two mountain passes of third category would hinder the riders. After the intermediate sprint, at the beginning of the race, the riders would have to climb the Alt de Lavit (1.1 kilometers at 4.9% average gradient) and the Alt de Begues (4.2 kilometers at 1.4%).
In the end, FDJ was crowned the big winner of this edition, winning each and every one of the three stages, as well as the final overall classification. Not only did Adegeest win the sprint, but Demi Vollering also took home the winner’s jersey.
