The Antioquian cyclist Diego Arboleda revalidated his title at the Pan American BMX Racing 2025 Championship in the Championship category and reached four gold medals in these competitions, which made him the most outstanding news of the continental event, held at the Juan Carlos Nicolettta BMX track of the Quilamapu Sports Complex, in Chillán, Chile.
The Colombian athlete was once again a great protagonist in the orbital competition, winning the gold medal and repeating the title he won last year. Arboleda added this Pan American title to those won in Bogota 2024, Santiago del Estero 2022 and Lima 2021.
The continental event left another scepter for Colombia, in the hands of Sharid Nicolle Fayad Mercad, who dominated the U23 section, ahead of her teammate, Natalia Mendieta Betancur and the American Keiley Shea.
Brazil took gold in the Elite women’s category through Paola Reis Santos, who narrowly beat Ecuador’s Domeniza Michelle and Colombia’s Valentina Muñoz. Previously, the Brazilians had celebrated with a one-two in the junior category with Bruno De Souza Oliveira and Kauê De Souza Leal.
The only champions who escaped the Colombian or Brazilian domination were the American Alexis Alden in the youth category and the Argentinean Gianni Antonio Daddona in the men’s U23.
