Colombian Egan Bernal, winner of the 2019 Tour de France and the 2021 Giro d’Italia, will lead the Ineos Grenadiers team in the upcoming the Tour of Burgos, which will take place from August 5 to 9, as confirmed by the Burgos Provincial Council, organizers of the Spanish race.
The British squad pre-registered seven riders, including Brandon Rivera, a regular supporter for Bernal, who returns to the Burgos race four years after his last participation in 2021, all with his sights set on the 2025 Vuelta a España.
In addition to the two Beetles, the Spaniards Jonathan Castroviejo, an expert time trialist and regular top supporter, will be there; Omar Fraile, stage winner in all three Grand Tours, and Óscar Rodríguez, a climber with a victory in the Vuelta a España.
The Ineos roster is completed by two promising young riders: American Andrew August, fresh from a top-five finish in the Tour of Austria, and Norwegian Peter Hansen, a powerful rider and sprint specialist.
The Tour of Burgos will celebrate its 47th edition from August 5-9, 2025, with five road stages that will cover some of the province’s most iconic locations. The race will once again bring together some of the best teams in the international peloton, and the Lagunas de Neila will crown the winner on the final day.
