The 59th edition of the Tour of Costa Rica 2025 has its 15 confirmed teams (seven Costa Rican and eight international) that will cross the finish line starting December 12th.

The participating teams are: 7C Economy Rent a Car Hyundai, Manza Té La Selva Scott, Colono Bikestation Kolbi, Ciclo Café Repuestos Mena – En su punto, Team Costa Frut AC Marriot Giant, Distribuidora Cruz Tecnoforest Mistral Atómica Trama, and the Costa Rican U23 National Team.

The invited teams competing are: Movistar Best PC (Ecuador), Plus Performance Zeo Sport (Chile), Canel’s Java (Mexico), Momentum Racing – GCS – Quici (USA), Flanders Region Team (Belgium), Universe Cycling Team (Netherlands), Giant Toscana Mitsubishi (Ecuador), and the Guatemalan National Team.

The event will kick off on Friday, December 12th, with the stage between Heredia and Grecia, totaling 107 kilometers. That day’s route will include an intermediate sprint and three mountain climbs.

“The Tour of Costa Rica is going to be a spectacle; it will be a battle royale in the mountains of our country. There will be a brand-new stage in Turrialba, and we will have 15 teams in total, including the Junior National Team, which represents the future of national cycling,” stated Óscar Ávila, president of the Costa Rican Cycling Federation.

This year’s race will be dedicated to Héctor Campos Araya, former president of Fecoci on four occasions and former treasurer of the current board of directors.

The 10 stages of the Tour, covering 1251 kilometers, are as follows:

Friday, December 12th: Stage 1: Heredia – Grecia (107 kilometers).

Saturday, December 13th: Stage 2: Alajuela – Guápiles (165 kilometers). Sunday, December 14: Stage 3: Guápiles – Paraíso (139 kilometers)

Monday, December 15: Stage 4: Turrialba – La Pastora (17 kilometers – time trial)

Tuesday, December 16: Stage 5: San José – Pérez Zeledón (137 kilometers)

Wednesday, December 17: Stage 6: Pérez Zeledón – Ciudad Neily (198 kilometers)

Thursday, December 18: Stage 7: Ciudad Neily – Buenos Aires (164 kilometers)

Friday, December 19: Stage 8: Pérez Zeledón – Oreamuno (123 kilometers)

Saturday, December 20: Stage 9: Palmares – Palmares (93 kilometers)

Sunday, December 21: Stage 10: Circuito Presidente (99 kilometers)
