The 2024 Pan American road race champion, Leangel Linarez, ended Colombia’s reign in road cycling at the Lima-Ayacucho 2025 Bolivarian Games by winning the gold medal in the event, after covering 176 kilometers in the Peruvian capital.

The Venezuelan rider proved strongest in the final meters. Linarez climbed to the top of the podium, joined by Ecuadorian Jonathan Caicedo, champion of the 2018 Tour of Colombia, and Chilean Francisco Kotsakis, who took the bronze medal.

Venezuelan Linarez succeeded Colombian Aldemar Reyes, winner of the road race at the 2022 Bolivarian Games in Valledupar. The best Colombian was Brayan Sánchez from Antioquia, one of the protagonists of the day’s breakaway, who ultimately ran out of steam and had to settle for 5th place.

Juliana Londoño leads Colombia’s 1-2-3 finish in the women’s road race.

In a high-speed finish, the Colombian women did not disappoint in the women’s road race at the Ayacucho-Lima 2025 Bolivarian Games, taking the top three spots on the podium in a race held on the streets of the Peruvian capital over a 132-kilometer course.

Juliana Londoño, Lina Marcela Hernández, and Diana Peñuela continued their medal haul, securing a 1-2-3 finish, repeating their strong performance from the individual time trial.
