For the Tour of Guatemala, which will take place from October 24 to November 2, GW Erco Shimano will field a very competitive six-man squad led by reigning champion Róbinson López, who arrives with the mission of defending his title.
To best support his team leader, Luis Alfonso Cely has lined up Brandon Vega, Juan Carlos López, Freddy Ávila, Santiago Garzón, and Juan Pinilla, who complete the group that will be in Central America.
“We are working to finish the season very well. We will be in Guatemala, where we hope to retain last year’s title with Róbinson López in this international race,” said Cely, the team’s General Manager.
Colombians have dominated the Guatemalan tournament throughout history, with 26 champions. In this new edition, Colombia’s chances of winning another title are strong, as three national teams will compete: Nu Colombia and Orgullo Paisa, in addition to a large number of national teams on Guatemalan teams.
