The 64th edition of the Tour of Guatemala is one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year. The competition will take place from October 24 to November 2 and will cover 1,439.4 kilometers spread over 10 stages, with challenging altitude that will test the endurance of the best cyclists from both the country and abroad.

This edition’s route will combine high-speed sections with demanding mountain climbs, guaranteeing a spectacular event every day. The multicolored caravan will travel through different regions of the country, ending with the traditional circuit on the Periférico ring road in Guatemala City, where the new champion will be announced.

The Tour of Guatemala 2025 will feature the largest number of teams in its history: 24 teams, 11 international and 13 national, with a total of 145 cyclists. Among the new features is the presence of the University Cycling Team from the Netherlands, as well as the return of GW Erco Shimano from Colombia, the team of reigning champion Robinson López.

“We are very excited and satisfied with the management we have been doing. We have a good, experienced group that has worked to make the Vuelta a success. It will be historic, with 24 teams and 144 riders. The cycling festival will return to places we haven’t been to for a long time,” commented Óscar Vásquez, president of the National Cycling Federation of Guatemala.

International Category Competition

The Tour of Guastemala maintains its 2.2 category, awarded by the International Cycling Union (UCI), one of the most demanding classifications on the Latin American calendar. This guarantees a high level of competition and the presence of teams with extensive experience.

“It will be a very demanding competition. The international teams are bringing their best cards, and it will be a challenge to face the Guatemalans, who are at a high level. The important thing will be the spectacle presented to the fans, and we hope that in the end, we will once again celebrate a Guatemalan victory,” said Omar Ochoa, technical director of the federation.

A celebration that unites Guatemala

With preparations in its final phase, the Tour of Guatemala 2025 promises to be more than a competition: it will be a celebration of effort, passion, and national pride. The country’s roads will once again be filled with color, with thousands of fans waving flags and cheering on the cyclists who brave the weather, the mountains, and the miles in pursuit of glory.
