From Friday, January 23rd to Sunday, February 1st, 2026, the province will host the 41st edition of the Tour of San Juan, one of the most traditional road cycling competitions on the local calendar. The race will traverse several departments of San Juan, featuring a prologue and nine stages, including an individual time trial, and once again will not include the department of Jáchal. The reasons for the department’s exclusion from the stages, as determined by the organizers, are currently unknown.
The race is open to male cyclists in the Under-23 and Elite categories, with the participation of local, national, and international teams, including teams from neighboring countries, giving it a strong competitive and regional character.
The overall organization will be handled by the Pedal Club Olimpia, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sports of San Juan, through its Sports Secretariat and the San Juan Sports Agency. The competition will be overseen by the San Juan Cycling Federation and will be primarily sponsored by the Government of San Juan.
The 2026 edition will feature an intense schedule, with routes that will pass through the cities of San Juan, Santa Lucía, Sarmiento, Albardón, Pocito, Zonda, Ullum, Rivadavia, and Iglesia, combining urban circuits, provincial roads, and uphill finishes, such as the traditional Alto del Colorado, one of the most demanding sections of the race.
