British rider Tom Pidcock (Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team) won the XCO event of the Andorra World Cup this Sunday, completing another of his now legendary comebacks. Starting from 48th place, he displayed strength, technique, and strategy to take the win after eight laps of the Andorran circuit.

Pidcock remained calm in the early stages, gradually gaining positions until he was right on Luca Martin’s wheel on the third lap. Halfway through the race, he launched his decisive attack on the climb before the forest, and from then on, he never looked back. He rode alone in the final laps, celebrating victory on the final straight, knowing that, barring a catastrophe, no one could take the win away from him.

Young Frenchman Luca Martin (Cannondale Factory Racing), fresh off his national title and winning the Short Track on Friday, was the only rider able to keep up with the Briton during the first half. However, a puncture forced him to change wheels, losing valuable time and removing him from the direct fight for gold. Even so, he recovered and held on to a creditable second place.

The podium was completed by his teammate Charlie Aldridge, who maintained a solid pace throughout the race and was key to reinforcing the Cannondale team’s outstanding performance. Behind him, Mathis Azzaro (Origine Racing Division) finished fourth, followed by Luca Braidot (Wilier-Vittoria Factory Team), Nino Schurter, Chilean Martin Vidaurre, Ondrej Cink, Simone Avondetto, and Fabio Püntener.
