First mountain battle in the Vuelta a España Femenina 2025, in which Demi Vollering (FDJ-SUEZ), who defends the crown, had no rival in the out-of-category mountain pass located in Lagunas de Neila and came out victorious in the fifth stage of the Spanish round.

The Dutch rider used a time of 3 hours, 19 minutes, 57 seconds for the 120.4 kilometers. In second place came the Swiss Marlen Reusser (Movistar Team) and in third place came the Dutch rider Anna van der Breggen (Team SD Worx-Protime), who came in at 24 and 56 seconds, respectively.

As for the Colombian women, both arrived far behind. First reported Angie Londoño (Eneicat – CM Team) in 82nd place at 19:05 and then Andrea Alzate (Eneicat – CM Team) in 125th place, more than 23 minutes behind the winner.

The Spanish round for women will continue this Friday with the penultimate stage that will take the riders from Becerril de Campos to Baltanás along 126.7 kilometers, which does not include categorized mountain prizes.
