In an intense sprint, Leonardo Cobarrubia (SEP San Juan) secured a spectacular victory in the fifth stage of the Vuelta a San Juan, after covering 138.7 kilometers between Rivadavia and Ullum. The Argentine masterfully executed his team’s strategy and achieved his second win of the season.

The Argentine sprinter’s decisive move came in the final meters, when an exceptional acceleration proved sufficient to reach the finish line first, ahead of his compatriots Kevin Castro (Diberbol) and Santiago Videla (Fuerza Activa).

As for the general classification, everything remained unchanged at the top. Argentine Tomás Contte (Municipalidad de Pocito) maintained his lead, followed by Chilean Cristóbal Baeza (Plus Racing).

The Vuelta a San Juan continues this Thursday with the sixth stage, a 124.3-kilometer route connecting Media Agua with the capital city of Sarmiento. Next Sunday in San Juan, we will find out who succeeds Nicolás Tivani, winner of the last edition.
