In a high-speed finish, Christophe Laporte (Jumbo-Visma) won again at the Critérium du Dauphiné after repeating victory in the third stage, developed over 194.1 kilometers between the French towns of Monistrol-sur-Loire and Le Coteau, in both Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz maintained his third place overall.

The French sprinter, who consolidated his lead in the 75th edition of the French round, was the fastest in the pack, defeating the Irishman Sam Bennett (Bora-Hansgrohe) and the Dutchman Dylan Groenewegen (Jayco-AlUla), second and third respectively.

One of the most followed figures of the contest, the Colombian Egan Bernal (Ineos Grenadiers) was the best of the beetles, ranking 29th, while Esteban Chaves (EF Education-EasyPost) came in 50th and Daniel Felipe Martínez (Ineos Grenadiers) finished 85. The three South Americans reported with the same time as the winner.

Regarding the general classification, Christophe Laporte with his victory added more time bonuses to continue leading the general classification with 11 and 17 seconds ahead of Julian Alaphilippe (Soudal-Quick Step) and Richard Carapaz (EF-EasyPost ).

The French round will continue this Wednesday, an individual time trial with an undulating profile with 31.1 kilometers that will connect the towns of Cours and Belmont-de-la-Loire.
