The organization of the Clásico RCN Banco Agrario de Colombia “Growing together is possible” confirmed the list of cyclists who will be in the “Duel of the Titans” starting on September 23.
There will be a total of 202 cyclists, a record for the competition, and 21 teams that were officially pre-registered for the race, according to what was stated by William Galvis, general secretary of the Clásico RCN Banco Agrario de Colombia.
“It will undoubtedly be a great challenge for each of the participants. This version has a very demanding journey from start to finish. We will see the best riders in our country and that already makes it a high-level competition” said Galvis about the 202 riders who will face each other for glory in the race with the most history in America.
The 21 teams will put the best of their squads on the starting line in Cúcuta on September 23. Team Medellín – EPM will be led by Aldemar Reyes, RCN 2022 Classic champion, complemented by figures such as: Fabio Duarte and Óscar Sevilla, who are capable of assuming command of the team at any time and fighting for the title if necessary. Team Medellín also registered Miguel Ángel López, from Boyacá, who is suspended by the UCI for a possible anti-doping rule violation.
The GW Shimano – Sidermec will have in Edgar Andrés Pinzón, runner-up in the race last year, his great letter, and for the cyclist himself the opportunity to demonstrate that he is no longer a promise but a reality in the universe of national cycling and why not Think of the old continent. German Darío Gómez and Diego Pescador complement a list that will fight for the positions of honor.
Team Sistecredito will put their hopes in Wilson Peña to compete in the general classification and a handful of warrior cyclists in search of stages and classifications in other modalities such as David Gómez, Julián Cardona and Julián Molano.
The Supergiros – Alcaldía de Manizales by Didier Chaparro and Salvador Moreno, and the Colombia Potencia de la Vida – GW Shimano by Rodrigo Contreras and Ómar Mendoza have in their squads a large number of cyclists capable of fighting shoulder to shoulder with the “encopetados” of the race.
