Colombia experienced a historic weekend at the Pan American BMX Championships, held at the Carlos Ramírez track in El Salitre Park, Bogotá.

The national delegation dominated from start to finish, taking all six titles in the elite, under-23, and junior categories, in both the men’s and women’s divisions, reaffirming its continental power in this discipline.

In the men’s elite category, Diego Arboleda was crowned champion, securing his fifth Pan American title and leading an all-Colombian podium alongside Carlos Ramírez in second place and Mateo Carmona in third.

In the women’s division, history repeated itself with Valentina Muñoz taking the top spot, followed by Gabriela Bollé and Sharid Fayad, in another local sweep that confirmed the high level of women’s BMX in the country.

The dominance also extended to the under-23 category. In the women’s division, Nicole Foronda took the gold, followed by Mariana Agudelo and Natalia Mendieta, while in the men’s division, Juan José Velásquez topped the podium, accompanied by Santiago Santa and Andrés Ariza.

In the junior division, Valentina Jiménez won the women’s title, with Guadalupe Palacios in second and Kamila Buitrago in third; and in the men’s division, Sergio Garzón was the champion, followed by Mathias Serna and Samuel Orjuela.

The event brought together more than 1,600 cyclists from 16 countries, including nearly 1,100 competitors in the Challenge and Championship categories, as well as 600 children in the walkbike category, demonstrating the growth and potential of BMX in the region.

The competition was supported by the Ministry of Sport, which allocated an investment of 17.5 billion pesos as part of the 13 major sporting events scheduled for 2026 in Colombia.

With this result, Colombia not only reaffirms its dominance in Pan American BMX, but also sends a powerful message for upcoming international challenges, solidifying its position as one of the world’s leading powers in this sport.
