On the fifth and final day of competition held this Tuesday, Colombia closed out its performance in Lima with three gold, two silver, and two bronze medals, adding three new Pan American titles with Juan Camilo Villamizar in the kilometer, Mariana Pérez in the keirin, and in the madison with the duo of Luciana Osorio and Yalecza Marin.
Valeria Hernández took two silver medals in the kerin and Juan Esteban Sánchez and Jerónimo Calderón in the men’s madison, while Juan José Calderón won bronze in the kilometer and Nelson Fabián Jiménez in the elimination.
This Pan American title reflects the great work being done in the junior category. The performance of the national team, led by John Jaime González and Andres Torres, who competed on Peruvian soil for five days, confirms Colombia’s power in junior track cycling at the Pan American level.
