“This will be practically the last great challenge for the continent’s cyclists before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and to be able to host a competition of this importance at such a special time fills us with pride and gratitude for all the trust placed in our work. We will strive to deliver an excellent event,” stated José Luiz Vasconcellos, President of the CBC.

During the press conference, plans were presented for the endurance and time trial races in the Elite, U23 and Junior categories, which will take place in parallel to the COPACI annual congress, with the presence of all the countries of the continent and the UCI president, David Lappartient.

Thanks to the excellent work and commitment of the CBC in the organization of events in recent years, the opportunity to bring the Pan American Road Championships to Brazil arose through an invitation from COPACI, in recognition of Brazil’s ability to organize major events.

For the president of the Pan American Cycling Confederation, José Peláez, the Pan American Championship will be of the highest level for pedalists and cycling fans. “It is with great enthusiasm that we confirm the realization of the Pan American Road Championships in Brazil. It will be an incredible opportunity to strengthen ties between nations, promoting values of friendship, respect and overcoming obstacles.”

The mayor, Anderson Farias, affirmed that he would spare no effort to provide all the necessary support to the event. “Our city is prepared to welcome all athletes and officials in the best possible way. I can assure you that we will do everything possible to make this an exemplary event for the sport and the first of many others,” explained the Mayor.

The president of the Federação Paulista de Ciclismo, José Cláudio Facex, emphasized that holding the Pan-American Road Race is fundamental for the sport in the state and in the country. “Bringing the event to our administration is a great step forward and we are honored. Not to mention that it is another important event ahead of the organization’s centennial celebrations in 2025,” he said.
