in the early hours of January 1, 2024, José Manuel Peláez, President of the Pan American Cycling Confederation (COPACI), published a message for the new year on his personal Facebook page, in which he welcomes the whole family of American cycling for the next 12 months. We publish his message in full.

FRIENDS OF CYCLING, WELCOME TO 2024.-

In the first hours of the new year, there is nothing better than wishing personal and professional success to all those who make up the cycling family in America, as part of the Pan American Cycling Confederation (COPACI), which will celebrate its 102nd anniversary in 2024.

The last twelve months left us full of optimism based on the fulfillment of Agenda 2025 and the results of our riders in the Pan American and world championships. Likewise, the dozens of races organized in America and the triumphs in them and in Europe by runners from the continent were another strength.

At the end of 2023 we received the pleasant news that COPACI won the Ibero-American Community Trophy, which is awarded every year by the Higher Sports Council of Spain, something that commits and comforts us, especially because of the history that we have gathered in 100 years of job.

The Paris Olympic Games will be the highlight for many in 2024. There we expect medals and high names on the podium. A wide continental calendar will also make us experience emotions everywhere. The dedication, discipline and dedication of cyclists, coaches, stewards, mechanics and managers will once again be the keys to victory.

Friends of cycling, welcome to 2024. I embrace you with the same affection and love as always.
