Costa Rica will have full representation in road cycling at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, after the event organizers officially confirmed the spots allocated to the country in this discipline.

The information was released by the Organizing Committee, which indicated that the quotas have already been registered in the corresponding system and could only change in exceptional cases such as injuries, a lack of eligible athletes, or other extraordinary circumstances.

The spots awarded to Costa Rican cyclists are for: Women’s Time Trial, Women’s Road Race, Men’s Time Trial, and Men’s Road Race.

With this allocation, Costa Rica guarantees its participation in the road race and time trial events for both men and women at the Youth Olympic Games to be held in Dakar, Senegal, in 2026.

Furthermore, the Organizing Committee specified that the quota places are already in the hands of the International Federations and that final administrative confirmation will be made official at the close of the sports registration period, scheduled for September 25, 2026.

Securing these quota places represents a significant opportunity for Costa Rican youth cycling, which will continue its preparation for one of the most important competitions on the international Olympic calendar.
