Colombian mountain biking woke up to great news with the arrival of junior riders Daniela Gaviria and Santiago Quintero, who climbed to fourth place in the UCI Junior World Ranking ahead of the Pan American MTB Championships this weekend on the demanding Aguavista circuit in Paraguay.

Héctor Pérez, technical director of the GW Erco Sportfitness team, emphasized the importance of the continental competition and the accumulation of UCI points. “Everything has been focused on arriving in top form for the Pan American Championships, in addition to securing important UCI points for the world ranking. We are strong and believe the results will reflect that.”

He also highlighted the work done and the importance of arriving at the Pan American Championships in peak condition. “We are very satisfied with the preparation that has been done with all the athletes on the team. It is important to have a high percentage of the team comprised of riders from the GW Erco Sportfitness team and from Antioquia. We have had excellent preparation with international events in Puerto Rico, Brazil, and recently in Paraguay.”

With two cyclists among the top four in the junior world rankings and solid international preparation, the Colombians arrive at the Pan American Games with high expectations and the hope of achieving significant results for Colombia.
