The Colombian BMX team had an excellent start to the first round of the World Cup, which began this Saturday in Sarrians, France, with Diego Arboleda securing a well-deserved podium finish in the elite men’s category.
The Antioquian BMX rider dominated each of the qualifying rounds and finished with a silver medal in a photo finish. Dutchman Jaymio Brink and Frenchman Sylvain André completed the podium in first and third place, respectively.
This is the fifth World Cup podium finish for the Colombian athlete, who previously won the first round of the World Cup in 2022, held in Glasgow, Scotland, in addition to a third-place finish in Manchester, England in 2019. and a first and second place finish in Sakarya, Turkey, in the seventh and eighth rounds of the 2021 World Cup.
The Colombian BMX team will compete again this Sunday in France, in the second round of the World Cup, and next weekend they will be in Papendal, Netherlands, for rounds 3 and 4.
