The Colombian cyclist Diego Dueñas was once again the protagonist in the Paralympic Games, winning this Friday a bronze medal in the men’s pursuit for the C4 category, with a time of 4: 35.607

Dueñas shared the Paralympic podium with the representative of Slovakia, Josef Metelka (4: 22.772) and Carol Novak of Romania (4: 31.212), who achieved the gold and silver medals respectively.

At the end of the competition Diego stated: “I am very happy, more than for the medal, because of my time, we have worked very hard to improve and lower the 4:40:00 barrier. I dedicate this medal to my family, to my girlfriend, to my friends, to all those people who contribute so much towards this ”.

This becomes the second Paralympic medal achieved by the Bogota native, who had already won a bronze in Rio 2016 in the same test.

In the C5 category, Edwin Matiz, a medalist in Rio 2016, finished in the eighth box with a time of 4: 39.113. For her part, Carolina Munévar ranked ninth in the 500 meters for categories C1, 2 and 3, with 45,541. While Alejandro Perea finished 14th in the kilometer, with a record of 1: 11.423.
