In the final stretch of preparation for the Three Grand Tours of the year, the Ineos team confirmed that the Colombian Egan Bernal will run the Tour de Romandie 2023, whose 76th edition begins this Tuesday, April 25 in Port-Valais with a prologue and will end on the 30th. April in Geneva.

His most recent performance was in the Tour of the Basque Country, in which he played a gregarious role, looking for his own set-up. If we take into account the good evolution that the Zipaquireño has been showing, his team gives him another opportunity to get fit and fit in a World Tour race.

Let’s remember that Egan suffered a couple of falls at the start of the year and that forced him, again, to be absent for a while. However, within the personal objectives and his coaches is that he can ride the Giro d’Italia, the Tour de France or the Tour of Spain, but for that he must demonstrate that he is fit.

It is not yet clear which of these three competitions the Colombian will be in, but the door is open and everything depends on his performance. For now, Egan Bernal will focus on the 2023 Tour de Romandie, which takes place on Swiss territory and consists of a prologue and 5 stages.

Precisely the start will be this Tuesday, April 25 with an individual time trial of 7.1 kilometers and the 1st Stage will be this Wednesday, with 180 kilometers, two 2nd category ascents and one more of 3rd.

In addition to Egan, Ineos will also take the Colombian Brandon Rivera, accompanied by another important group of runners.
