This Friday, December 16, starting at 8 in the morning, the #56 edition of the Tour of Costa Rica Telecable 2022 will begin with the participation of 10 national teams, including the National Team and five international teams.

The presentation of all the teams took place this Thursday afternoon, December 15, at the Omar Dengo Cultural Center, in an event attended by the Second Vice President of the Republic and Minister of Sports, Mary Munive, members of the Board of Directors of the Costa Rican Cycling Federation (FECOCI), the participating teams, sponsors and a large number of media.

“Ticos have always found a way to unite, cycling is no exception, from the Government we are very happy to have the Tour again in December and we wish the greatest success to each of the runners in competition”, Munive stated.

The president and vice president of Fecoci, Óscar Ávila and Óscar Herrero, respectively, also gave their message at the presentation.

“We are happy to have theTour of Costa Rica back after two years of absence, it has been months of work, commitment, sacrifice and discipline from the Federation team, we are going to achieve our main team goal of the year, we are also very grateful to all the people, sponsors, authorities, press, friends and close collaborators who have contributed their grain of sand for the return of the greatest cycling event in the country, is the Christmas gift from the Federation for all the people”, he explained. Óscar Ávila, president of Fecoci.

“We hope to see the roads of the country packed with fans supporting these great athletes who will participate in the event,” added Ávila.

The first stage will have a route of almost 200 kilometers, starting at the Central Park of Heredia at 8 in the morning and finishing at the Edgardo Baltodano Stadium in Liberia.

For the second day, the tour will start in Liberia and will reach Nicoya; for day #3, the Tour will start from Nicoya and end in Puntarenas, while on the fourth day of action the test will start in Puntarenas and will reach Parque de Grecia.

The fifth day of action will be a fairly strong route starting in San Ramón and arriving in the same town, but in the Berlin sector, a huge challenge for cyclists, especially climbers.

On the sixth day, the Vuelta will reach Pérez Zeledón, starting at La Unión, a route that will take place in reverse the following day, while on the eighth day the test will start and arrive at the Paraíso de Cartago sector.

The ninth day will be the time trial with departure from Cot de Oreamuno and arrival in San Juan de Chicúa, while the last day will take place the traditional Presidente Circuit in Parque de la Aurora in Heredia, which will put an end to the participation of all teams in this 2022.

“We have the best seven teams in the ranking in this Tournament and also two more invitations that we made to teams in which there is even the U23 National Champion and we know that they are doing things very well, we are also betting on a very young National Team, made up of young talents who will fight in the competition and at an international level with very good payrolls, champions of great events such as Tachirá and teams that have always been protagonists at the Latin American level are coming,” said Óscar Herrero, vice president of Fecoci.
