From this Thursday, October 12 to Sunday, October 15, Cusco will host the 2023 Pan American Downhill Championship, which will be organized by the Peruvian Cycling Federation on behalf of the Pan American Confederation of this sport.

The competition in this modality will take place at the Eco Park Rahuanqui, in Huarocondo, Cusco, a circuit that presents all types of super technical obstacles at an altitude of 3,399 meters above sea level.

In addition to Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, United States, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, San Salvador and Venezuela will participate, making a total of 250 runners.

It should be noted that the teams from the United States and Canada will arrive in Peru for the first time to compete in this great sports festival, which will be a prelude to the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. That is, from Peru, those classified will head towards the multiple event.

Meanwhile, the organizers announced that the national team will be made up of 11 runners, who are ready to leave the name of Peru high and welcome their teammates from America.

Since 2019, the Peruvian land has become the preferred setting for this modality, which has already given America world and Olympic medalists in the last Olympic cycle (2016-2020).
