In a spectacular finish, Norwegian Fredrik Dversnes won the fifteenth stage of the 2026 Giro d’Italia, a completely flat 157-kilometer stage between Voghera and Milan in the northern region of Lombardy.

The 29-year-old Scandinavian, who proved to be the strongest of the four-rider breakaway, took the victory ahead of Italians Mirco Maestri (Team Polti VisitMalta) and Martin Marcellusi (Bardiani CSF 7 Saber), who finished second and third, respectively.

The overwhelming favorite, Frenchman Paul Magnier (Soudal Quick-Step), had to settle for fifth place after leading the sprint in the peloton, which finished five seconds behind the leading quartet. Colombians Einer Rubio (Movistar Team) and Egan Bernal (Netcompany Ineos) finished without incident in the peloton.

The general classification remained unchanged and is still led by Dane Jonas Vingegaard (Team Visma | Lease a Bike). The provisional podium is completed by Portuguese rider Afonso Eulálio (Bahrain – Victorious) and Austrian Felix Gall (Decathlon CMA CGM Team).

The day’s breakaway was led by Fredrik Dversnes (Uno-X Mobility), along with Italians Martin Marcellusi (Bardiani CSF 7 Saber), Mattia Bais (Team Polti VisitMalta), and Mirco Maestri (Team Polti VisitMalta).

The Giro d’Italia, which will have its final rest day this Monday, continues on Tuesday with stage 16, a challenging 113-kilometer stage between Bellinzona and Carì, with a mountain finish.
