Guatemala will receive the best mountain bikers from the Central American region in a new edition of the 2023 Central American MTB Championship and the UCI International Date, events for which it was chosen as the official venue.
The two competitions will take place between May 25 and 28 on the track of the San Agustín Bike Park, located in Fraijanes. Each of the tests will be held on a four-kilometre track with a positive drop of 23 meters that is located within the natural park.
The 2023 Central American Championship will be the first to be held, on Thursday 25, with a class 3 Olympic Cross Country (XCO) event. While the International Date will be held this weekend, which will award points for the world ranking of the International Cycling Union (ICU).
On Saturday 27 the Short Track (XCC) class 3 event will take place and the following day, on Sunday, the Olympic Cross Country (XCO) class 2 event. Around 200 cyclists will participate in the two competitions, in the Elite, Youth (UCI categories), Master A, B and C, Male Cadets, Female Minors, Male Precadets and Male Infant (national categories).

For the Central American Mountain Bike Championship, Guatemala will have a total of 95 representatives in the different categories to be played. The team will be led by their elite national champions Florinda de León and Jonathan De León, as well as junior national champion Gabriel Sáenz.
