Colombian Héctor Leonardo Páez won the mountain bike marathon World Championship this Sunday, with a great exhibition in Sakarya (Turkey).

With a final time of 4 hours, 19 minutes and 50 seconds, Páez was proclaimed winner of the test, ahead of the Portuguese Tiago Ferreira (+2: 20) and the Czech Martin Stosek (+2: 35).

The 38-year-old cyclist from Ciénega (Boyacá) competed with number 1 and was the best of the 57 registered riders over a 110-kilometer route.

In the women’s category, the winner was the Swiss Ramona Forchini, with a time of 3 hours, 42 minutes and 18 seconds.

After 80.9 kilometers, Ramona Forchini defeated the Polish Maja Wloszczowska in the sprint.

The also Swiss Ariane Luthi completed the podium (+1: 22).
