Costa Rica has new national time trial champions in the elite category, they are Jason Huertas del Colono – Bike Station Construction – Clips and Milagro Mena from Team Colono Construction – Bike Station – Clips.

Hacienda Pinilla, Guanacaste, was the venue of the competition this Saturday, from 8 in the morning the riders began to leave. U23 women and men also ran.

The circuit, which barely exceeded 13 kilometers in distance, was a litmus test for each athlete. There was no room for mistakes, any mechanical damage could take its toll. Bike & Go’s Jennifer Morales was one of the calls to fight for the podium, but she couldn’t finish the race.

On her side, Milagro did take advantage of her great moment, came out behind Natalia Navarro from CBZ Asfaltos – Los Sueños Café and was able to surpass her. There was no better indication of the potency that Milagro carried and that it was confirmed in the end.

The champion took 55 seconds from María José Vargas (CBZ Asfaltos – Los Sueños Café), another favorite, and 01:06 from María Sánchez from Puro MTB – Saris – Bianchi.

Sánchez was a pleasant surprise, nobody had her on the radar to steal a place on the podium, but she did it with great category.

In the masculine branch, Huertas prevailed and registered a great 13:44; leaving behind Donovan Ramírez (Team Wilches GDAENLINEA.NET – Baula Sport) with 14:07 and José Alexis Rodríguez (Specialized – Colono Agrupecuario) with 14:31.

The U23s also had their moment

In female Sharon Ramírez (Colono Construcción – Bike Station -Clips) did not disappoint and defeated Angie Bogantes from CBZ Asfaltos and Krissia Araya from Puro MTB – Saris – Lapierre.

While in men Luis Esteban Murillo of Team STS Camaleón won (14:17), second Joseph Ramírez of Colono Construction Bike Station Clips) (14:24) and third Harrison Solorzano of NH Training / BMC (14:35).
