In a mountainous day full of emotions, the Colombian cyclist Juan Diego Hoyos (Team Sistecredito) was victorious in the seventh stage of the International Tour of Guadeloupe 2024. The leadership of the Caribbean race remained in the hands of his compatriot Kevin Castillo (Team Sistecredito).

The rider from Caldas took the victory, after riding 159.9 kilometers between the towns of Morne-à-l’Eau and Petit-Canal. In the second position came the Spanish Pol Hervas (Team Madras Cycling) and third was the French Loris Coss (Charvieu Chavagneux Isère Cyclisme).

The fraction began very lively with many attacks. As usual day after day, where Juan Diego Hoyos was very active and was able to enter the breakaway of the day. The race was dominated by the breakaway, which ended up sentencing the stage. In the end, the Colombian was the fastest of the breakaway.

In the general classification, Kevin Castillo (Team Sistecrédito) maintained the leadership of the race. The rider from Risaralda is escorted by his compatriot and teammate Sebastián Castaño and by the French rider Sam Maisonobe (Vendée U), closing the podium.

This Saturday will be the penultimate stage of the prestigious Caribbean race, with another day full of mountains, over a distance of 141.6 kilometers, in which the Colombians of Sistecrédito will have to work hard to defend the leadership of Castillo.
