The cyclists Miguel Ángel López and Lina Marcela Hernández were confirmed as the best time trialists in Colombia, during the national road championships that take place in the Department of Santander.

Ratifying his great moment, Miguel Ángel López (Team Medellín-EPM) took the gold medal in the elite CRI in the National Championships, in a 45.3-kilometer individual time trial, held this Thursday, February 2.

The Boyacá cyclist used a time of 52:59″. The second step of the time trial podium was occupied by his teammate Walter Vargas (Team Medellín-EPM) with a difference of 1:12″ seconds and the third position went to Rodrigo Contreras from Cundinamarqués (Pacto por el Deporte-GW Shimano) at 2:18″.

Supermán López, 28, managed for the first time in his professional career to win the national time trial to be the best time trialist in Colombia.

The champion in 2019, 2020 and 2022, Daniel Martínez (Ineos Grenadiers) had mechanical problems and had to settle for fifth place, losing more than three minutes with the winner.

The national championships will continue this Friday with the dispute of the online test, for the elite and sub-23 ladies, who must complete a 23.7-kilometre circuit through Bucaramanga, to which the elite and Sub-23 runners must complete five laps, to complete 118.5 kilometers.

She, she did it again! Lina Marcela Hernández (Colombia Pact for Sports-GW Shimano) once again dominated the CRI of the National Championships in the elite category. The rider from Antioquia prevailed in the 26.5-kilometer individual time trial, which took place through the streets of Bucaramanga.

The Paisa runner signed the victory with a time of 39:33, beating Diana Peñuela (DNA Pro Cycling) on the podium by 16 seconds and Ana Cristina Sanabria (Colombia Pacto por el Deporte-GW Shimano) by 38 seconds, who set times at 39:49 and 40:11, respectively.
