With a time of 10 minutes and 5 seconds, Miguel Ángel López from Boyacá from Team Medellin-EPM fulfilled the forecasts, won the prologue in Yopal and became the first leader of the Tour of Colombia 2023.

“It is something very nice to be here and win the first stage of the Tour of Colombia, close to home, surrounded by family and the warmth of the public. We were very close and we were able to set the best time of the day, ”said the Boyacá runner after his victory.

‘Supermán’ López was the fastest of the day at the timer of 7.8 kilometers, beating his teammate Fabio Duarte (Gremios por el Deporte) by 17 seconds and Rodrigo Contreras (Colombia Potencia de la Vida – GW) by 18 seconds Shimano.

In the most important race of the national calendar, 164 cyclists took the start accompanied by the rain. The first reference time was set by Róbigzon Oyola, who spent a long time in the hot seat.

The Colombian round will experience its second day this Saturday with a 197.3-kilometre circuit in Yopal, which includes two fourth-category mountain prizes, in which the sprinters will have their first duel.
