Colombian cyclist Nairo Alexander Quintana gave a very good news to all his followers this second week of April. Through his social networks, Nairo shared a video in which he announced his return to training, after suffering a collarbone injury.

In his reappearance in the World Tour, Nairo Quintana competed in the Vuelta a Cataluña. However, the Colombian suffered a crash in the last stage on March 24. The incident forced the boyacense, who has been out of competition for about three weeks, to retire.

“The Movistar Team rider suffers a practically complete rupture of the anterior external-clavicular ligament in his right arm,” the team said.

Nairo Quintana’s fall put in doubt his participation in the Giro d’Italia, taking into account the preparation time and the fact that the corsa rosa will start on May 4. However, Nairo has remained in Movistar Team’s plans for the first grand tour of the 2024 season.

Despite the fact that he has been out of competition for several weeks, the boyacense achieved a significant rise in the UCI ranking after its most recent update. In fact, he gained twelve positions, so now he is in the 1848th place worldwide.
