The experienced Colombian cyclist Nairo Quintana, of Movistar Team, maintained his lead in the overall standings of the Vuelta a Asturias after defending his position in the third stage, a 157.2-kilometer route between Figueras and Vegadeo.

The 36-year-old Colombian rider is 30 seconds ahead of Spaniard Adrià Pericas (UAE Team Emirates – XRG). Another Colombian, Diego Pescador (Movistar Team), from Quindío, is in fourth place, narrowly missing out on third.

The third stage was won by Mexican Edgar David Cadena (Team Storck – MRW Bau), remembered for his stage victory at Alto del Vino in the 2022 Vuelta a Colombia.

The 2026 Vuelta a Asturias concludes today, Sunday, April 26. The fourth and final stage will unfold over a hilly course between Lugones and Oviedo, the capital of the Principality, covering 152 kilometers and three medium-mountain climbs.

Movistar Team arrives defending the blue jersey with Nairo Quintana, but they must be wary on a stage with a tricky finish: the Alto del Padrón and San Esteban de las Cruces are hostile territory, where their rivals will launch their final attacks in La Vueltina.

Nairo Quintana is 30 seconds behind Adrià Pericas, the young UAE Team Emirates rider who has been active throughout the Asturian tour. The Catalan will be looking for an opportunity to wrest the overall classification from Movistar Team and spoil the idyllic retirement Quintana is enjoying on the roads of northern Spain.
