True to his style, Néstor Rueda (Team Edasa) won the second stage of the Tour of Nicaragua 2023 in a sprint. The rider from Zapatoca, Santander, surprised the Team Kilos riders in the last meters, taking a great victory.

On another flat day, the Colombian runner took victory, after traveling 138 kilometers between Managua and the City of León. The Nicaraguan Argenis Vanegas of Team Kilos retained the lead of the race for a few seconds.

Vanegas now has a time of 6:40:32 hours and is followed by Néstor Rueda just one second behind, while his teammate José Ricardo Aguilar is third in the general classification, 10 seconds behind.

The fourth seat of the turn goes to Carlos Andrés Romero of Team Kilos at 12 seconds, who is also the leader of the mountain, after snatching that shirt from the Costa Rican Jhon Jiménez (Team Roli Difocal) in this stage.

As can be seen, the leaders remain with only a minimal difference over their closest pursuers, so there are interesting stages ahead for the fight for the leadership and the championship of this Tour of Nicaragua 2023, where 13 teams, eleven locals and two from Costa Rica.

This Friday, December 1, the third of the Vuelta a Nicaragua 2023 will be run, a 132-kilometer undulating section between the American Embassy and El Crucero.
