COCHABAMBA. If on Thursday the 5th the Canadian Kelsey Mitchell broke the world record of 200 launched, thi Friday the 6th men have not wanted to be less and two new world record holders have been established, by the trinitarian sprinter Nicholas Paul, in 200, and by the American persecutor Ashton Lambie, this double.

In the first place, chronologically speaking, Paul was bursting the French record that François Pervis had from December 2013 (9,378), with a stratospheric 9,100, on the third day of the Pan American Championships held in Cochambamba (Bolivia)

And as happened on Thursday, another sprinter also flew below the previous record, Surinamese Jair Tjon in Fa, with 9,249, being for a few minutes world record holder until Paul’s arrival.

Minutes later, the current record holder of 4,000 meters, the American Ashton Lambie, beat the mark he had established a year ago in the Pan-American of Aguascalientes, with a time of 4: 06.407, exceeding the 4: 07.251 that then caused a sensation.

But the ‘fastest mustache in the world’ was not confirmed with that and in the final it established a brand new, incredible, of 4: 05.423, that is to say almost a second less than the record of the qualifier. It goes without saying that his rival, the Colombian Brayan Sánchz, ended up bent, while the bronze was for the Canadian Jay Lamoureux who surpassed the American Jon Croom

Returning with Mitchell, the Canadian had no problems to take the speed, beating in the final to the Colombian Martha Bayona.

The score also had Canadian color, in the person of Michael Foley who thanks to a lap won reached 40 points, offsetting the greater presence in the sprints of Mexican Ignacio Sarabia and Colombian Sanchez, with 33 and 31 points, respectively.

The day was completed with the triumph of the American Jennifer Valente in the omnium – her second gold after the scratch of the first day -, although we do not have the classification of this discipline. (cycle21.com)
