The Management Committee of the Pan American Cycling Confederation (COPACI) approved this Wednesday the venue for the continental track championship, elite category, for Lima, Peru, from June 23 to 29, in the beautiful velodrome built for the 2019 Pan American Games .

As reported, Peru complied with the sanitary protocols required by the UCI for this type of competition, which were approved by the Ministry of Health and the Peruvian Institute of Sports, the most responsible for guaranteeing the procedures and the health of the participants.

As an additional detail, this event will deliver the first places in all modalities for the I Pan American Youth Games in Cali, Colombia.

For its part, the Pan-American road championship, elite category, which was scheduled for San Juan, Argentina, (May 5 to 9), was canceled and the COPACI Management Committee is studying a new venue to be able to hold it before the start of the Tokyo Olympics.

The attraction of this road competition will also be the distribution of quotas for the I Youth Pan American Games in September, which will be delivered based on the results of the sub 23 category, as corresponds to the age required to participate in that fair.

At the virtual meeting of the Management Committee, it was reported that possible applicants are still being analyzed to organize the Pan American Track and Route championship, junior category, after Mexico will not be able to assume it as planned.
