On Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5, Peru will host the South American Championship and the Fourth Round of the 2022 PKS BMX Latin American Cup, which will be held at the Costa Verde Pan American complex, located in the San Miguel district.
This championship will feature the participation of more than 200 athletes from five countries, who will be measured in the BMX modality to continue preparing for the most important events on the international cycling calendar. These C1 competitions are valid for the personal score of each athlete before the International Cycling Union (UCI).
In addition to the Peruvian delegation, the participation of riders from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela has been confirmed.
Among the athletes who will compete in this event of great magnitude, the presence of the national athletes of the elite category André Lacroix, Micaela Ramirez and Rodrigo Santa Maria stands out, as well as the junior category Kingman Koochoy.
This event will serve as preparation for the XIX Valledupar Bolivarian Sports Games, where athletes Micaela Ramirez and Kingman Koochoy will represent Peru for the BMX Racing modality.
“We are very happy to be able to continue having international dates and give more and more visibility to Peruvian cycling throughout the world. Peru is part of the Pan American BMX Commission and together we are working to have more dates that give our athletes UCI points and obtain a classification within Latin America for fundamental events such as the Olympic Games and Pan American Games.” The president of the Peruvian Cycling Sports Federation (FDPC), Gustavo Matus de la Parra, said.
Full coverage of this championship will be broadcast on the FDPC Facebook page.
