Antioquian cyclist Stefany Cuadrado was awarded the Altius Olympic Promise of the Year Award, a recognition that celebrates her exceptional performance in 2024, a season in which she was crowned triple world track champion in China.

After winning gold in the sprint, 500m time trial and keirin events at the Junior World Championships, Cuadrado received, at the Salitre Business Center of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, the Gold Altius in the category ‘Promise of the Year’ in sports that are part of the Olympic Games program.

The award, given by the Colombian Olympic Committee (COC), highlights her dedication, discipline and achievements, despite her young age. Stefany shone on the track thanks to her victories in the Pan American Junior Track Championship in Lima (Peru), in the GP Colombia, in the Eje Cafetero National Junior Games, in the National Track Championship and in the World Junior Track Championship.

Precisely, in the World Cup, the Antioquian became the first cyclist in history to win three medals in the same edition of the youth competition. Also noteworthy is the world record in the sprint category with 10.508, set during her performance at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, as well as her debut in the UCI Track Champions League, which brings together the best riders in the world.

Accompanying Stefany on the podium was Brenda Olaya with the Silver Altius thanks to her title as world junior judo champion in the 78 kg. category, while Ingrid Segura, also world junior champion, but in the 64 kg. weightlifting category, closed the category.
