The board of the Táchira Lottery officially presented its list of cyclists, with which it will participate in the 59th Tour of Táchira, next January, a contest with a wide call and tradition within the cycling tours of America.

Marcos Albarrán, president of the Táchira Lottery, began by thanking Táchira Governor Freddy Bernal for his support for the participation of the lottery entity in the entity’s most important cycling event.

Likewise, he thanked his colleagues on the board of directors, Natalia Chacón and Ricardo Castro for their unrestricted support, Professor Arlex Méndez, technical director of the Lotería del Táchira team, José Gregorio Freites, president of the Tachirense Sports Institute (IDT) and Rubén Osorio, president of the Táchira Cycling Association.

“We are happy -said Albarrán- because today we present the cycling team of the Táchira Lottery, one of the oldest in the world. This team of cyclists has a great passion to defend that orange jersey and will undoubtedly seek to be on the podium. We are sure that we are going to succeed because it is a very competitive team”.

The list of cyclists is made up of Edwin Torres, Jorge Abreu, Franklin Chacón, Yohandry Rubio, Klisman Vásquez, Emmanuel Viloria, Gregory Guevara, Germán Rincón, Omar Ruiz, Yilber Ramírez and Yorman Fuentes.

Albarrán highlighted that of the 58 editions of the Vuelta al Táchira, the lottery entity has won 19 and hopes to crown victory number 20 in January 2023.

The technical director Arlex Méndez expressed very excited that he is confident that this elite team of the Tachira Lottery will have a good performance in the Tour of Táchira, since “we have cyclists with experience in Europe. Like Edwin Torres and Franklin Chacón; also others who have had an outstanding performance such as Yorman Fuentes and Jorge Abreu, among others, ”he said.

Rubén Osorio, president of the Táchira Cycling Association, expressed his gratitude to the president of the Lottery for his support for cycling and for his efforts to ensure that the elite team of the Táchira Lottery returns to cycling events.

He gave the scoop on the agreement with the German company Corratec that donated six professional bicycles for the Lotero team. He concluded by highlighting the teamwork of all the entities involved in the cycling event.
