The Dominican Cycling Federation (Fedoci), announced at a press conference that the Junior Caribbean Road Championship, to be held in the Mirador Sur Park on October 22, 23 and 24 of this year, will have 10 countries and 80 athletes.

They have already confirmed their presence at the event, in addition to the hosts from Quito, teams from Bermuda, Grenada, Barbados, Jamaica, Bahamas, Aruba, Puerto Rico, San Martín and Curaçao.

The technical congress will be held on the 22nd, while the races, the first time trial on Saturday 23rd and the road trial on Sunday 24th. The details of the international fair were announced at a press conference held at the Dominican Olympic Committee.

Major General Elvis Marcelino Feliz Pérez, as president of the organizing committee and Jorge Blas Díaz, president of Fedoci, explained that the event will be run in the pre-youth and youth categories in male and female.

They detailed that the time trial modality, which will be on Saturday 23 in both branches, will be run as follows: the pre-youth at 10 kilometers and the youth at 20.

The road competition, scheduled for Sunday 24, will be as follows: youth and junior ladies 60 kilometers. The boys, prejuvenil will run 70 kilometers, and the juveniles 90.

They specified that all the technical details will be announced at the technical congress, on Friday 22.

For his part, the president of the COD, Antonio Acosta, appreciated that the country continues to organize international events like this one, while praising the work of Fedoci, who a couple of weeks ago organized an international event of more than 30 countries and some 300 athletes successfully.

The event is supported by the Ministry of Sports, the Dominican Olympic Committee, the Pan American Cycling Confederation, the Caribbean Cycling Federation and the International Cycling Union. The Fedoci is the organizer of the international fair.
