The organizers of the Gran Fondo Chiloé Epic 2022 announced that the last tickets to compete in the race are available. With a strict health protocol, the cycling event will take place on March 6.
“We created the Gran Fondo Chiloé Epic for those compatriots who wanted to be part of a competition with the same route and logistics as the Vuelta Ciclista a Chiloé UCI 2.2. The reception has been so good that there are very few places available to compete in it”, said Pablo Haeger, the organizer of the race.
The good health situation in this region will allow the celebration of this event, although with certain limitations. “The Gran Fondo Chiloé Epic remains standing and we continue to work day by day so that everything turns out in the best way. We have a health strategy and we have limited participation to 180 cyclists, who must have a mobility pass,” said Haeger, who mentioned that they are free to move between the communes of Achao and Curaco de Vélez, where the cycling test will take place.

Tour of Chiloé and GP of Patagonia, postponed
On the other hand, the postponement of the professional races, Vuelta Ciclista a Chiloé UCI 2.2 and Gran Premio de la Patagonia 1.2, which were to take place in the first week of March, was confirmed. The epidemiological situation and the logistical problems of the international teams to reach the country led to this decision.
