The British team Ineos Grenadiers is already in Argentine territory ready to start its participation in the International Tour of San Juan, a world-class race on the UCI cycling calendar in America with seven top-class teams.

The English squad goes with a South American quartet made up of three Colombians: Egan Bernal, Daniel Felipe Martínez and Brandon Rivera, as well as the Ecuadorian Jhonnatan Narváez. The list is completed by the Italians Filippo Ganna and Elia Viviani, the letter for the sprints of the World Tour formation.

This race brings with it great expectations, as it is Bernal’s great return after a year after the accident that almost cost him his life. Despite the fact that the Colombian, after his recovery, ran in Germany, Denmark and Italy at the end of 2022, his return to the high level in the new year will take place in this prestigious Argentine contest.

The Vuelta a San Juan will be held from January 22 to 29, 2023 with a total of 26 teams, 7 World Tour formations, 5 Pro Tour teams, 10 continental teams and 4 teams, with the participation of great stars of world cycling such as Peter Sagan, Remco Evenepoel and several Colombian stars such as Fernando Gaviria, Miguel Ángel López, among others.

The gaucho round will have two mountainous stages, which will most likely decide your general classification. One is the very long ascent to Alto Colorado, at more than 2,600 meters of altitude, a stage that will take place on Friday, January 27, and the other is that of Barreal, which will be held on Wednesday the 25th, with the passage through the Virgen de Andecollo, a first-class summit with more than 2,200 meters of unevenness.
