The Italian Luca Pacioni conquered this Sunday the first stage of the Vuelta al Táchira-2020.

The European completed with two hours, 59 minutes and 6 seconds the inaugural section of the 55th edition of the Andean turn: 117.6 kilometers between San Cristóbal -capital tachirense- and Táriba in an 8-lap circuit animated by the general public in all his way.

The winner, member of the Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec team, beat Isaac Yaguaro of the FCC, Jonathan Salinas (Deportivo Táchira), Miguel Ubeto and Leonel Quintero, both of the Venezuela Country Future Team, in the final sprint.

Pacioni will wear the yellow leader’s jersey on Monday, in the 2nd Stage agreed at 154.8 kilometers between El Piñal and Abejales on a very flat course where 4 intermediate sprints will be played 2 of them bonuses

The Vuelta al Táchira, belonging to the America Tour calendar of the International Cycling Union (UCI), will be played in eight stages until Sunday, January 19, with a route of 908 kilometers.

88 cyclists compete in the race, with representatives from Colombia, Ecuador, Italy and Costa Rica, who challenge local figures, including defending champion Jimmy Briceño.
